History 733 (Graduate Seminar, Spring 2014)
Description: This course is a seminar for graduate students aimed at developing writing and presentation skills in the field of European or World History. The topic of the seminar will be "Micro-History," and students will be encouraged to utilize the writing methodologies that we study in the first part of the course to better situate their own work in a broader context and make it more accessible to wider audiences The course will also focus on producing an article-length study on a topic of the student's choosing, and giving an effective public presentation on it.
